Full-Time Animal Care Specialist
Full-Time Animal Care Specialist needed. Responsibilities include; maintaining a safe and sanitary facility for animals and people, providing humane handling and care for all shelter animals, assures all animals’ nutrition, housing and basic medical needs are met on a daily basis. This is a hands-on job with cats and dogs, 5 days a week with two consecutive days off.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for all duties related to the care of shelter animals to include cleaning of holding areas, assuring that animals receive food and water, bathing and grooming, and providing humane handling when animals need to be moved;
- Observes and evaluates animals for signs of illness and reports symptoms to appropriate personnel;
- Performs continual maintenance duties and reports needed repairs and upkeep of facility. Cleans vehicles and equipment used in transporting animals.
- Restocks supplies. Runs errands as necessary;
- Maintains accurate records;
- Maintains grounds – keeps clear of trash and debris.
- Must have knowledge and understanding of cleaning procedures and policies.
- Promotes the mission and goals of Suncoast Humane Society.
