Thrifts, Info 'n'More!

We have not 1, not 2 but 3 thrift stores! Located in Venice, Englewood and North Port, these stores are a major source of revenue for Suncoast Humane Society. We rely on your generous donations of quality goods to keep them going strong.

Even though the Suncoast Humane Society Thrift Stores are located several miles away from the Animal Care Center, they are part of Suncoast Humane Society in a very important way.  All of the profits from the stores go directly towards the care and housing of the animals at SHS.

At our Thrifts you can find all sorts of unique treasures, one-of-a-kind knickknacks, furniture, books, art, gifts, small appliances, holiday items, bed linens, and many other things. 

You may also get to meet Governor, the official Thrift Store mascot.  Governor is a medium greyhound whippet and a Kentucky native.  He's a wonderful companion to Ed Laesser, the Manager of Thrift Store Operations.  Ed now divides his time between all three stores so Governor could turn up at any of them.  Whether you're just browsing the shelves or you're on a hunt for a special treasure, Governor would be happy to be your personal shopping assistant.  Why not stop by and visit our stores today?

Volunteers are always needed at our Thrifts.  If you have some free time you'd be willing to donate, and you'd enjoy working in a friendly retail environment while providing valuable help for hundreds of needy animals, please consider stopping by the store for a volunteer application.
